Tonight I went to my buddy's birthday party. I decided to wear Derek Jeter's Driven Black: a mysterious blend of exotic saffron, blood orange, and precious woods. I have two words for my experience: WOW!
Dragon Quest V: Previously unreleased in the US, but VERY similar to Dragon Quest IV (no surprises there). The addition of a cool playable narrative at the beginning of the game and adding monsters to your party makes it slightly cooler and
the perfect game to play on the BART every morning. There's some hysterically bad translation if you look for it, especially from one of the main villains: 'Set him liberal. In the wild, his savage nature will be returning at him!'
Darren Emerson Global Underground Bogota": to my tastes, much better than the recent Nick Warren or Felix Da Housecat mixes. Sounds ranging from electro to house to progressive house with a retro-80's vibe! Great for the car or drowning out co-workers!
Drood by Dan Simmons: I just started this one at the same time that I'm trying to digest Updike's Witches of Eastwick. Dan Simmons is probably my favorite modern writer, so I would be amazed if I didn't enjoy this. More later...
Skins Season 1: great British series which turns the high school drama on it's head with fresh takes on sexuality, music, drug culture, and some really messed up relationships. Like the cast of Trainspotting in high school before they became total freaks!
